The Panamanian agro-industrial group Calesa, together with ArtIn Energy  will start the largest solar energy self-generation project in Natá de los Caballeros with the aim of significantly reducing CO2 emissions by developing its production with a much renewable energy source. more friendly to the environment.

The megaproject will be developed on the grounds of Hacienda La Estrella, in front of Capellanía, and will provide power to 3 of the Calesa Group’s production plants where renowned Panamanian products are manufactured: Azúcar La Estrella, Arroz Del’oro, Arroz Premier and Larro Foods.

For the execution of this project, the company has contracted the services of ArtIn Energy, an important multinational company that offers its clients the design and development of “green energy” solutions and who will be responsible for the manufacture and installation of more than 6,450 panels with capacities of 700w each, which take advantage of solar energy achieving a capacity of 3.87 Megawatts. This self-generation project is one of the largest in the Republic of Panama.

The reduction of operating costs is also one of the virtues of this megaproject whose consolidation materialized with the support of Grupo Calesa’s partner: Expense Reduction Analysts, which will guarantee the competitiveness of the company’s products in the national market.

Employment opportunities in the region:

The workforce in the solar energy generation sector has grown after the execution of projects of this nature throughout the world, with this project more than 269 jobs will be generated in the region.

This project is an additional initiative to the multiple efforts that the Calesa Group has been making to generate a favorable contribution to the environment, being drip irrigation, biocontrol, the use of biomass as fuel and reforestation days, some of the most relevant to date for the organization. With this solar farm, according to figures from Klarzen Inc., a CO2 emission reduction of 1,943 tons is estimated and has an equivalent of 7,414 trees planted for each year of installation of this solar system.
