Brazil is ranked in the top 10 in the world with the highest cumulative photovoltaic power

The country had an increase of almost 1.8 GW of installed solar capacity during the last month, with distributed generation at the forefront, and is located in the top 10 world of highest accumulated PV power.

Brazil continues to rise in the installation of solar generation systems, so that photovoltaic capacity grew almost 1.8 GW in the course of the last month and the country is close to reaching the goal of 28 GW operating.  Distributed generation (the law allows systems of up to 5 MW) was the segment that led the solar market, with an evolution of 1393 MW for the country to overcome the barrier of 19.4 GW under this modality, a record figure for the Latin American region. 

 While centralized generation rose around 389 MW, totaling 8367 MW installed. And new power records are expected from the operating income of the plants awarded in the auctions of new energies. 

So much so that renewables would play a fundamental role during this year, since 2023 will be the beginning of a commercial operation process of 1744 solar parks for approximately 75.58 GW until the end of the current decade. 

In any case, the current numbers that Brazil holds ratify its position as one of the ten countries in the world with the highest accumulated installed capacity from the photovoltaic solar source; place he first accessed in early March. 

 Even from the Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy (ABSOLAR) they hope to remain in that position throughout 2023 and that new technological trends are incorporated into the productive scheme from the return of Lula da Silva to the presidency.
